Every year, NAMI Texas hosts an Annual Conference and Awards Celebration. These events bring together individuals living with mental illness, family members, professionals, and the general public to highlight the latest updates in the mental health field, exchange information, and celebrate the year’s successes.
NAMI Texas provides education, support and advocacy for people whose lives have been affected by mental illness. We work closely with our 27 local NAMI Affiliate organizations across the state and about 1,700 members. With your help, last year NAMI Texas improved life in Texas for people with mental illness by:
Educating The Community – Through 37 trainings, NAMI Texas offered no-cost program leader training to 202 individuals statewide so they could offer NAMI signature programs in their communities.
Supporting The Affiliates – NAMI Texas added 2 new local NAMI Affiliates and provided robust training and technical assistance to the Affiliates throughout the year, and
Advocating For Change – NAMI Texas secured 5 pre-filed legislative bills for the 2023 session and training 36 people on advocacy skills.
The NAMI Texas Annual Conference and Awards Celebration gathers hundreds of people whose lives have been affected by mental illness. With keynote speakers, workshops, networking opportunities, and exhibits, the NAMI Texas Annual Conference offers attendees opportunities to learn, share and build community.
